Saint Patrick

St. Patrick of Ireland is one of the world's most popular saints.

Patrick was a humble, pious, gentle man, whose love and devotion to God should be a shining example to each of us. He feared nothing, not even death, so complete was his trust in God, and of the importance of his mission.

St. Patrick's Prayer

This day I call to me:

God's strength to direct me,

God's power to sustain me,

God's wisdom to guide me,

God's vision to light me,

God's ear to my hearing,

God's word to my speaking,

God's hand to uphold me,

God's pathway before me,

God's shield to protect me,

God's legions to save me.

Patrick used the shamrock to explain the Trinity, and has been associated with him and the Irish since that time.
