You will get reminders and notes on any project that has changed, been revised, or has been assigned to a class or group. Helpful hints on project completion will also be offered. Any Confirmation student wishing to help out at the Parish Picnic, please call Mrs. Allen at 973-827-9501. We need your help with children's games, activities, jumpy house, petting zoo, senior-citizen picnic helpers, setting up and cleaning up. If you are attending the picnic this would be a good way to earn Project Hours. The picnic is September 14th...starting with Mass at noon. PLEASE consider volunteering. You will have a GREAT TIME! Earn Confirmation Project Credit Hours: Helpers needed for the Immaculate Conception Blood Drive on 12/28 from 3-8pm. Any time you can spend helping out in the Canteen would be appreciated and count towards your Project Hours. Call the Office of Religious Education to volunteer. We need your help.

On December 16th all eighth graders will participate in the Giving Tree Project.
Students in Mrs. Burns class will sort and bring the Giving Tree Gifts out to the trucks for delivery to Sr. Thomasina. (1:30-2:00)
Students in Mr. Slate's class will unpack the trucks at Partnership for Social Services on Wyker Road and arrange them inside for Sr. Thomasina. (2:00-2:30)

Tenth graders will sell Christmas Wreaths before and after each Mass. Your assigned Mass will be given to you by your teacher. Please plan on being at Church 20 minutes before Mass and staying 20 minutes after Mass.

The Giving Tree will be assembled and decorated on the evening of November 30th at 7:30-8:00pm in the Church. Your assignment will be given out in class. Please check with your teacher if you are not sure if you are to participate in this project.

On November 25th all 10th grade students will prepare the bows for the Wreath Sale Project. Materials and directions will be given in class. Attendance in class is required in order to receive credit for project completion.

(November 25, 2007) All 10th grade students will participate in the Thanksgiving Basket Project. Mrs. Zarzycki's Class: 1:30-2:00 (in the Church) sort and load the Thanksgiving Baskets into trucks for delivery.
Mr. Tidona's Class: 2:00-2:30 (at Partnership for Social Services on Wyker Road) unload the baskets and organize them at St. Thomasina's.

October 28th: 8th Grade Service Project/Giving Tree Ornaments On 10/28 all 8th graders will be given packets containing materials and instructions for making the ornaments that will go on the Church Giving Tree. The ornaments are to be prepared and brought back to class on or before November 25th. It is important for all ornaments to be prepared and ready for class on the 25th of November.

Healing Mass: 9th Graders will be assigned service at the Healing Mass on May 20th. Service will include setting up the Lyceum for the luncheon on May 19th, service at the luncheon on the 20th and clean-up after lunch. If you are not able to attend you must call the Office of Religious Education and select an alternate project. The Healing Mass and Luncheon is a very important and meaningful event for our Parishioners and your participation will make it even more special for them.

10th Grade Craft Project: The St. Patrick's Day Craft Projects (Due 3/4) will be handed out in class on 2/18. If you are absent you must call the Office of Religious Education to make arrangements to pick up your craft project on Sunday or during the week. Our Nursing Home and Homebound Parishioners are always delighted to receive something "handmade" just for them. They truly appreciate your caring gestures of kindness and generosity.

Our Troop Packs prepared by our 9th Graders will be on their way to the dedicated men and women who serve our country in the Armed Forces. Packs will be delivered to the Troops in Iraq and I'm sure they will be touched by your generosity and thoughtfulness.

Unfortunately the Lyceum renovation is taking longer than expected. I am asking all of you who have been assigned to the Sunday Social Helper Project to prepare (5) Christmas Cards. Thanks to all 10th Graders who handed in their College Care Packages. The packages are on their way to the students of our parish. They should arrive just in time for exams!
If you have not handed in your College Care Package, we are still collecting them and will send out another batch of packages in the near future.

Wow, we have so many beautiful baskets to send out to our Homebound and Nursing Home Parishioners. I will fill your crafted baskets with lots of treats, starting the Holiday Season in a very special way with "hand crafted" treat baskets from your class.
